Chicharrón, chienne xoloitzcuintle (chien nu du Mexique) née en décembre 2017 à Mexico et bien installée à Montréal depuis février 2018, pratique le scratch sur gamelles et les percussions de croquettes, ainsi que le chant de gorge, employant une technique particulière appelée le grü. Comme tête d’affiche du groupe Morsure Attaque, Chicharrón est appuyée par l’artiste sonore Dominique Pelletier (aka R41ÑB0W TR4$H) et le beatmaker trois fois nominé à l’ADISQ Maxime Robin, tous deux déterminés à contribuer à la réalisation du plein potentiel artistique de cette canine hors du commun.

Ainsi, tous les sons (grognements, renversements et grattements de gamelle) de leur premier EP, GRÜ, ont été créés par Chicharrón et échantillonnés par Maxime et Dominique, qui les ont par la suite arrangés dans des compositions respectant l’esprit et la personnalité de Chicharrón et les messages qu’elle transmet à travers son univers sonore. Morsure Attaque est une œuvre de médiation culturelle d’un autre monde et GRÜ en est le premier témoignage, dont le thème central porte sur la protection des ressources. Cet EP de 5 chansons, mêlant punk, métal, reggaeton, hip-hop et noise, invite au partage des croquettes et à ne pas rester silencieux lorsqu’on touche le font du bol... GRÜ!

Chicharrón, xoloitzcuintle (Mexican hairless dog) born in Mexico City in December 2017 and settled in Montreal since February 2018, is a master of bowl scratch, nugget percussions, and throat singing in her own particular technique called grü. As head of the band Morsure Attaque, Chicharrón is supported by sound artist Dominique Pelletier (aka R41ÑB0W TR4$H) and three-time-ADISQ-nominee beatmaker Maxime Robin, both determined to contribute to the full deployment of this extraordinary canine’s potential.

Consequently, all sounds (grunts, growls, food bowl scratches and flips) from their first EP, GRÜ, have been created by Chicharrón and sampled by Maxime and Dominique, who then arranged the sounds in compositions respecting the spirit and personality of Chicharrón and the messages she conveys through the sonic universe around her. Morsure Attaque is work of cultural mediation from another world, and GRÜ represents its first testimony, centered around the theme of resource protection. This 5-song EP blending punk, metal, reggaeton, hip-hop, and noise promotes fair sharing of nuggets and reminds us to make noise when reaching the bottom of the bowl. GRÜ!
